When you consider the zip code of the Halstead apartments, this community technically resides firmly within the borders of Fairfax at 2655 Prosperity Ave. In reality, Halstead at the Metro is really on the border of Dunn Loring, Vienna and Fairfax. This is fairly common for many luxury condo communities in Northern Virginia.
There is a Fairfax County in Virginia, but these are two separate entities. Fairfax is an independent city located to the northeast and currently has a population of about 24,500.
The Halstead at the Metro Dunn Loring community is comprised of two buildings and the Halstead at the Metro floor plans include Halstead at the Metro 1 bedroom, two-bedroom, studio and a small number of loft units available. Both buildings were built around the same time. Metro I or H1 was built in 2005 and is located at 2655 Prosperity Ave while Halstead at the Metro II or H2 was built in 2006 and is located at 2665 Prosperity Ave. Both Metro I and Halstead at the Metro II are nearly identical.
All of the 440 units at Halstead at the Metro come with one or two assigned garage parking spaces. This is regardless of whether you choose Metro I or Halstead at the Metro 2. Some units even have separate storage space. This puts you right near some other condo communities, like Prosperity Flats and Avalon Mosaic. Unlike Halstead at the Metro, Prosperity Flats and Avalon Mosaic are only available for lease.
Halstead at the Metro floor plans various models and the size ranges from 660 square feet to 1,231 square feet. Both Metro I and Halstead at the Metro 2 have similar floor plans. There are also 38 loft units that are on the top floor. These are two-level condos with two-story windows and 20-foot ceilings.
Perhaps the best thing about Halstead at the Metro is the convenience. These apartments near Vienna metro are within walking distance to the Dunn Loring metro that goes right into Washington D.C. and other major spots in the area. On top of that, Halstead at the Metro is more affordable than other metro-accessible communities like Clarendon, Rosslyn or Ballston. You’re also within walking distance of the Mosaic District, which has lots of restaurants and stores for families.

Halstead at the Metro has a number of amenities that all residents are sure to love. If you’re into physical fitness, then you’ll enjoy the Halstead at the Metro modern fitness center, indoor basketball court, and the outdoor pool. There are even some outdoor gas grills for some fun in the sun at these apartments in Fairfax VA.
Along with that, you also gain access to a business center, library with wireless Internet, concierge service, Halstead at the Metro party room and a billiard room. There are two EV charging stations.
There is a professional on-site management office along with community social events that are managed and sponsored by the Halstead at the Metro condo association. A gated garage with assigned parking is available to all Halstead at the Metro residents and there are two courtyards to explore.
One of the best things about the Halstead at the Metro condos is the location. These Dunn Loring Metro apartments put you within walking distance of the nearby metro, Starbucks, Harris Teeter and many other stores. Halstead at the Metro puts you within minutes from the Mosaic District and these apartments near Tysons Corner put you just two miles away from the location. On top of that, Halstead at the Metro gives you easy access to Routes 50, 29, I-66 and I-495.
The Halstead at the Metro condo association is managed by Legum and Norman. They can be reached by phone at 703-207-1030 or the on-site office. The HOA fee in Halstead at the Metro starts at $310 a month and can go up to $548 per month depending on the size of the unit.
The HOA fee Halstead at the Metro covers a fair amount of services. This goes towards the health club, common area maintenance, pools, parking fees, security gate, recreation facility, trash, water, snow removal, and reserve funds.
Whether you have children now or not, many people are curious about the local school system at Halstead at the Metro. This section will cover the public schools in the Fairfax area start with elementary school and finishing with high school. All of this information here comes from Great Schools. This website ranks and reviews all schools across the country.
We’ll start off with Shrevewood Elementary School. This school is for pre-K to sixth grade and has 730 students at this time. They receive a fairly good grade of 6 out of 10. Their strongest point is good grades that are consistently above the state average, but they struggle when it comes to helping low-income and disadvantaged students.
Next is Kilmer Middle School for seventh and eighth grade. There are 1,230 students at this school and they receive a great score of 7 out of 10. This represents above-average schools and they are strongest when it comes to test scores. While their test scores are nearly perfect, they also struggle with helping disadvantaged students. This is a common issue with all the schools here.
Marshall High School has an average rating of 5 out of 10. This caters to 2,052 students. While their test scores are largely above the state average, Marshall High School receives a low grade for college readiness due to low AP class participation. This seems odd though because 82 percent of students apply for college while the state average is 68 percent.

This is one of the best things about living at Halstead at the Metro because you are literally in the center of everything and within walking or short driving distance from anything you would ever need.
The Mosaic District is a major stop for locals and you’re within walking distance of it. Along with common restaurants, shopping, the impressive Angelika theater, and many stores, you’ll also find Halal Guys with great kabobs and District Tacos for the best tacos in the area.
If you’re looking for apartments near Vienna metro, then you will love how close the station is. You are across the street from the Dunn Loring Metro for the Orange Line. This ensures you can easily reach Washington D.C. without any stress or difficulty. Even if you don’t commute, this allows you to travel with ease. If you’d rather drive, then you’ll be happy to know you’re just minutes away from all the major routes.

The Halstead at the Metro HOA requires a percentage of hardwood floors be covered in rugs, which significantly cuts down on noise.
You’ll love the Halstead at the Metro amenities. You gain access to a lovely pool and many balconies overlooking the pool. There’s also a new removed fitness center, massive indoor basketball court, TV room, Halstead at the Metro party room and a library and business center with computers and printers.
Guest parking is surprisingly simple with Halstead at the Metro real estate. You can ask the front office or access a website available to every Halstead at the Metro resident and get parking passes. That’s all there is to it.

There is plenty of assigned parking for Halstead at the Metro residents. You can park in the garage or get a permit to park in visitor spots.
While Halstead at the Metro is pet-friendly for the most part, there are some restrictions you should check if you have a larger breed.
Don’t have a car? There’s a Zipcar near the metro station that you can access in minutes.
While the carpeted floors reduce the noise, some residents at Halstead at the Metro have complained of thin walls. If you have loud neighbors, then you might hear them. Most residents here are very nice and will quiet down if you ask them.
There are two fees you should be aware of when moving into Halstead at the Metro. There is a move-in and move-out fee of $250 that is non-refundable along with an elevator fee of $350 that is refundable. These fees aren’t discussed until you’re charged for them, so be prepared for them.
The assigned garage parking doesn’t correspond with your unit. For example, someone living on the top floor might have their parking spot in the basement which can be inconvenient.
